The MARTINTRUX GROUP supplied various transport services to major Importers and Exporters and, primarily, to large
UK Hauliers and Forwarders in the 1970s and 1980s. Operating around 40 tractor-units and 140 trailers,it became one of
the biggest carriers of of UK - Italy groupage consignments. With an excellent reputation throughout Europe, the MARTINTRUX GROUP went on to establish partner-companies in several countries and, through an arrangement with Townsend Thorensen, acted as a controlling Agent for third-party channel-ferry crossings. Eventually, the MARTINTRUX GROUP was concerned with more than 5,000 vehicle movements through Dover each month.
